Independent scientific verification

We are committed to the highest standards for the scientific assessment and substantiation for our reduced-risk products (RRPs)* and welcome independent verification of the scientific data we have generated on them. 

We are taking several steps to have our scientific findings reviewed by the scientific community. 

• Our scientists regularly publish in peer-reviewed journals, all of which can be found on our PMI Science website. 
  
• We also attend and present at many scientific conferences worldwide.
  
• All of our clinical studies are registered on ClinicalTrials.gov. 
  
• We have developed a Systems Biology Verification collaborative project, called sbvIMPROVER, to enable scientists to learn about and contribute to the development of a new crowd-sourcing method for verification of scientific data and results.
  
  
  
  _{*Reduced Risk Products (“RRPs”) is the term we use to refer to products that present, are likely to present, or have the potential to present less risk of harm to smokers who switch to these products versus continuing smoking.  PMI has a range of RRPs in various stages of development, scientific assessment and commercialization. Our RRPs are smoke-free products that produce an aerosol that contains far lower quantities of harmful and potentially harmful constituents than found in cigarette smoke.}
